1. Google Trends


Google Trends lets you see the latest trends, data, and visualizations from Google and find out what’s trending near you right now. It’s so powerful that it will give you validation on an idea pretty fast, and is very easy to use. Here’s what it can do for you:

  • Use up to 5 terms and compare the data of each one
  • Shows you an interest by region on a map and also related queries
  • You can search by countries, time period, categories and type of search which includes Youtube search

Tip:
So if you are going to start a business, research competitors, create a new campaign or just curious about certain words Google Trends is one awesome tool you can use!

2. Google Keyword Planner

Google Keyword Planner is a feature in Google Adwords which I will be talking about later in this article and is similar to Google Trends but it gives you actual data you can work with.

You can choose one or more keywords, choose the country and the language you want and see approximately how many times your word is searched (this is called search volume). You can see if the competition is “High”, “”Medium” or “Low” and what is the suggested bid (how much you are willing to pay for every action made by a user) for that keyword.

Tip:
You can start a Google Adwords campaign directly while you research your keywords.

If you learn to use this tool you will make your job as a marketer a lot easier. The cool thing is that it is super easy to use and you will not waste days trying to figure out how it works.

It can help you make a plan for a Facebook Ads campaign in the best way. You can see how many people you can reach based on country, interests, devices they are using, behavior, habits and even life events.

Tip:
Facebook has an interesting and powerful tool. It has the best targeting ad systems which have tons of data for all of us to use.

Facebook is the biggest Social Network in the world with an average of 25.5 Billion visits per month, average session duration of 16 minutes and 5 seconds and an estimate of 14.36 scrolls per visit. In the Philippines, 8 out of 10 Filipinos have a Facebook account and there are more devices recorded Filipino holds than the current population in the Philippines.

Given the facts above, in my opinion, Facebook is a superpower ad network fighting head to head with another tech giant, Google. With all those data Facebook can collect, just imagine how it can unlock a lot of opportunities for you to reach your target audience.

5. Google AdWords

Similar to Facebook Ads, Google is another giant ad network that earned $67.39B in 2015 alone through Google AdWords platform.

So if you are a marketer you definitely need to learn how to use it. At least the basics because it is not a coincidence that people get hired for doing just Google Adwords. Its capabilities are massive and you will need quite a lot of time to learn all the things it can do.

With Google AdWords, you may show your ads on Google Search, Google Search Partner Network, Display Ads, Google Display Partner Network, YouTube, Google Play Store and much more. Given this, imagine how easy it is for you to reach your customers.
